What is Aeration?

Lawn aeration consists of punching holes in your lawn’s surface, reducing surface compaction and allowing air to penetrate the ground. These holes also create a path for water and fertilizer to easily reach the root zone beneath the turf, helping ensure a thick & lush lawn.

Heavy recreational use, active pets, foot traffic and even lawnmowers can compact the soil under your lawn. That disrupts root growth and can lead to thatch and even bald areas.

Aeration can be done at any time, but is most effective in early Spring & early Fall.

EnvyUs Lawn Care & Landscaping brings years of hands-on experience, local expertise, and a commitment to excellence in every service we provide. Our team is highly trained, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping lawns thrive in Grant County’s unique climate.

Lawn Aeration – What to Expect:

  • Lawn Assessment
We inspect your lawn to determine the best time and method for aeration based on grass type and soil condition.

  • Core Aeration Equipment
We use commercial-grade machines that remove small plugs of soil to relieve compaction and improve airflow.

  • Even, Systematic Coverage
The lawn is aerated in a consistent pattern to ensure uniform results and promote deep root growth.

  • Post-Aeration Cleanup (if requested)
Soil plugs are left on the lawn to naturally break down and return nutrients to the soil—or we can clean them up upon request.
*We do not recommend cleaning up the plugs.*

  • Optional Enhancements
Aeration is often followed by overseeding and fertilization for even better results and thicker, healthier grass.

*Pro Tip: Aeration is most effective when paired with De-Thatching, Overseeding, & Fertilization.
