What is Overseeding?
Overseeding is adding new grass seed over your already existing turf—without turning the soil.
By overseeding a lawn, you can thicken grass density, introduce enhanced varieties of grass to your lawn’s microclimate, and improve the color to an ideal lush green.
Overseeding is more effective when paired with Aeration and De-Thatching.
The best times to overseed is Early Spring & Early Fall.

At EnvyUs Lawn Care & Landscaping, we have in-depth knowledge of the grass seed varieties that perform best in the unique climate of Grant County. We select only high-quality seed blends that are proven to thrive in our region’s soil and weather conditions, ensuring a fuller, greener lawn that lasts.

We always pair overseeding with top dressing.
Due to the extreme dry heat in our region, keeping seed moist long enough to germinate can be challenging.
This is why we always top dress the seed with organic peat moss to help hold in moisture, giving the seed a fighting chance to not only survive, but to fully thrive.

-
Lawn Evaluation

Preparation
The lawn is mowed and, if needed. Then, if requested, aerated and/or de-thatched to create optimal seed-to-soil contact. -
Overseeding
High-quality grass seed, selected for our local climate, is evenly spread to fill bare spots and promote a thicker, healthier lawn. -
Top Dressing with Peat Moss
A thin, even layer of peat moss is applied over the seeded area to retain moisture, protect seeds from birds, and encourage faster germination. -
Watering Recommendations
We provide clear watering guidelines to ensure proper seed growth and long-lasting results.
*Pro Tip: Overseeding is most effective with Scalp Mowing, De-Thatching, Aerating, & Fertilization.
